Some ATMs also support Maestro, Cirrus, and UnionPay, although availability is more limited. American Express (Amex) is rarely accepted, so carrying a Visa or Mastercard together with some cash is recommended.

Yes. Although many hotels, dive centers, restaurants, and tour operators accept card payments, cash is still essential when travelling around Flores. Small shops, local restaurants, markets, and villages often only accept Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). ATMs are available in major towns such as Labuan Bajo, Ruteng, Bajawa, Ende, and Maumere, but they can occasionally run out of cash. For most travellers, carrying IDR 500,000–1,500,000 per day is sufficient, depending on your travel style.
The highest mountain on Flores is Mount Poco Mandasawu, which rises to 2,370 metres (7,776 feet) above sea level. Located in central Flores, it offers spectacular scenery and rewarding trekking opportunities for experienced hikers. Flores is also famous for its many other volcanic peaks, making it one of Indonesia’s best destinations for mountain trekking.
Flores is located within Indonesia’s Pacific Ring of Fire, where volcanoes and earthquakes naturally occur. However, the chance of experiencing a volcanic eruption or tsunami during your holiday on Flores is extremely low. Indonesia has advanced monitoring systems, and local authorities closely track volcanic activity. If any safety concerns arise, tour operators adjust itineraries and follow official guidance.

Yes. Magical Flores Tours offers refunds based on our cancellation policy. If you cancel more than 30 days before your tour, you’ll receive a full refund. Cancellations made 15–30 days before departure receive a 50% refund, while cancellations made less than 15 days before the tour are non-refundable.
If Magical Flores Tours has to cancel your tour due to severe weather, volcanic activity, government restrictions, or other unforeseen circumstances, we will first try to offer an alternative tour or departure date. If no suitable alternative is available, you will receive a full refund for the affected tour. Please note that refunds do not cover additional travel expenses such as flights, hotels, or travel insurance.
If you need to cancel your booking, simply send us a written cancellation request by email to bookyour@magicalflorestours.com. Please include your name, booking reference (if available), and your tour date to help us process your request quickly.
Your cancellation becomes effective once we have received your email. Any refund will be calculated according to our cancellation policy based on the number of days before your scheduled departure.
